I don't see a connection, but my research on HUGGINS is fairly new. Many of
my CORNELIUSes and JONESes did move to Texas, so a connection is quite
possible. Do you have additional information about the descendants of John
HUGGINS of SC?
I have a Nimrod HUGGINS, born c1834, in NC. All of his children were listed
as being born in Georgia. The only place I've found them, so far, is the
1880 Blount Co, AL, Census. He was 46 born NC. His wife was Malinda 39 born
Georgia. His first four children, Thomas 20, Mary E. 18, Lucinda 16, James
H. 13 must have been from a previous marriage because their mother was
listed as born NC. The last four children, Martha J. 9, Cynthia D. 6,
Malinda 4, and Robert C. 10/12, were listed with mother born in Georgia. The
death certificate (she died in Electra, Wichita, TX) of my great
grandmother, Lucinda (HUGGINS) CORNELIUS, listed her birth as 14 Nov 1864,
Rome, Floyd Co, GA. They are not listed in the 1870 or 1860 Georgia Census,
so I'm not sure where to look now.I'll keep in touchDerrill
