Good Morning, Christopher.
Well, I have more to add to the confusion.
I spoke with a cousin last night. He is Lawrence Alton Tanner, son of Lawrence Alex Tanner. (Lawrence Alex is one of Warren/Elerzine's children). Well, Alton said he was named after his father's brother, Alton, who was a doctor but died of pneumonia.
The list you sent the other day shows McKinney children, Henry, Alton, Gaines, Joe and Josie. Well, Gaines, Joe and Josie are Tanners. But could Alton be Henry McKinney's middle name? Our family notes say Henry was the doctor who died (in an epidemic, though) but we could be wrong. Do you show any independent information on Alton McKinney?
I am also hoping my cousin Alton will be able to do some footwork over in Texas. He lives in Ft. Worth, is familiar with the area and is retired (all good requirements!!).
Let me go...have to take Mom and Dad to Dr. appt in Montgomery this morning.
Will write again later.
Joanne

Hi,
Actually I live in Maine right in Mom and Dad's home. Mom lives next door over my sister Gloria in an apartment. John, my brother, lives down the street about 2 miles. We get together often for lunch on Sundays.
I am attempting to start a dance school for children. It is a lofty goal and a pipe dream at present, but who knows, maybe it will become reality. Otherwise, I am a mother to two sons, Shawn 12 and Patrick 16. Pat just failed to get his license to drive and is totally bummed about it still, but maybe next time. Shawn does tap and basketball and juggles and a million other things. Pat races motocross. Two totally different boys.
I will tell mom that we are conversing. This is really cool, nice to talk to a family member. Maybe we will catch each other on line sometime. Deb

Hello,
My name is Ron Conner. This afternoon I was playing on the Internet and
came across the websites for rootsweb.com and ancestry.com. To my surprise
I found a listing for several of my relatives that you have posted. My
grandfather was EDISON ALVA CONNER, SR. which you have listed as well as my
cousin (EDISON SCOTT) and his son (EDISON SCOTT, JR.). I was surprised to
see that my grandfather had a sister that died in infancy - my Dad (WILLIAM
EUGENE) has never mentioned this fact. Moving around the various listings I
noticed that you have included MIRL CONNER (my grandfather's brother) with a
birth date of July 13 - this is incorrect. Uncle Mirl was born on July 12
but the death date of July 13 is correct.
I'm wondering why the listing for EDISON SCOTT lists his mother's name but
just lists "Living" where his fathers name should be. Shouldn't the file be
corrected to include EDISON ALVA CONNER, JR. as his father? Also, the
listing for my great grandfather AMOS CONNER, JR. shows that he had 2
marriages but doesn't mention the children from the second marriage (DOROTHY
and KATHERINE).
How did you obtain your information? If we are related, what is the
connection? I'd be glad to update the information for my "branch" if you
want it - both my brother and mother are deceased.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Ronald C. (Caldwell) Conner

Chris,
Thanks for sending your address - I'll forward it to Edison. Thanks for the
info. on the program you use. Interesting how the date thing works. Which
program are you using? Still wonder why my uncle's name wasn't listed under
his parents but his grandchildren were listed under his son's name. I had a
nice phone conversation with Eileen Willmore a few weeks ago. Here's a new
update for your file - my father died December 13, 2000. It has been a
while since I looked at your material, but I think the info on my folks was
missing some things. I'll try to list the things below.
Dad: William Eugene Conner
BD: September 15, 1922
Birth Place: New Kensington, PA (Westmoreland County)
DD: December 13, 2000
Death Place: Hammond, IN (Lake County)
Burial: Plum Creek Cemetery
Plum Borough, Pittsburgh, PA (Allegheny County)
Mom: Charlotte Anderson Caldwell
BD: May 29, 1919
Birth Place: Tarentum, PA (Allegheny County)
Parents: Charles Imbrie Caldwell (October 22, 1880 -
1943)
Edna Lenore Love (September 30,
1876 - 1957)
I'll have to locate the
exact death dates.
DD: October 31, 1998
Death Place: Dyer, IN (Lake County)
Burial: Plum Creek Cemetery
Plum Borough, Pittsburgh, PA
My parents were married September 1, 1945 in Tarentum, PA.
Brother: William Edison Conner
BD: July 13, 1946
Birth Place: New Kensington, PA
DD: July 8, 1998
Death Place: Chicago, IL (Cook County)
Burial: Plum Creek Cemetery
Plum Borough, Pittsburgh, PA
Myself: Ronald Caldwell Conner
BD: November 4, 1947
Birth Place: New Kensington, PA
Hope this info helps - I've based the info sent on one of the family group
forms I've seen. I know both of the funeral home visitation books for my
Caldwell grandparents is at my folks house. I'll forward the exact death
dates later. I'm starting the slow process of going through things at the
house which should take me til spring.
Did I ever give you my address? If not, here it is:
931 Cross Creek Drive North
Roselle, IL 60172-3649
Enough for now. Take Care.
Ron
