Subject: Tanner additions/corrections
Hey Chris
Hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas!
Here is a correction or addition you might like to have. Effie Tanner was divorced from Graves and married ca 1915 in Cullman County, Mr. Leonard Fortner. In 1920 they were in Carrollton, GA along with all but one of her children by the Graves marriage-I can't figure out where that child was at this time-probably with family in Alabama(?). At any rate, they were missing in 1930 from Carrollton-of course! Do you know ANYTHING about Aunt Effie? Have you located a picture of her? Did she cease relations with the rest of the family? This figure is truly a mystery to me. I truly would like to find her and a descendent.
I told you the story repeated to me by mother about aunt Effie, didn't I? The story about her having been disinherited by C. S. and papa Tanner, as Admin. getting the other heirs to give her a child's share? Well, that story proved correct, as far as I can determine. I located his will and she was written out but the division appears to have included her.
