The deed reads:
Georgia This indenture made the first day of January eighteen hundred
DeKalb CO and thirty eight between Silas Tanner of the one part and Price
Sprigberry of the other part. Witherforth[?] That the said Silas Tanner for and in consideration of the sum one hundred dollars in hand paid before the sealing and delivering of there presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold and conveyed and by these unto the said Price Sprigberry his heirs and afsigns all that tract and parcel of land situat lying and being in the time of drawing Cherokee County known as lot no two hundred and thirty six (236) in the fourteenth (14) district of Third (3) section containing one hundred and sixty (160) acres surveyed on the 22nd day of May 1832 by Stephen Drawn[?] and drawn by Thomas Tanner relative raliden[?] in Griffen District, Dekalb County and granted to him on the fourth day of March 1836. To have and to hold said tract and parcel of land unto him the said Price Sprigberry his hiers and assigns together with all and singular the rights and apportunens thereof to the -----in any wise belonging to --------proper. Said Silas Tanner for himself, his hiers executors and administrators the said bargained pertains untio the said Price Sprigberry,his hiers and executors and administrators and afsigned will warrant and forever defend the right and title thereof against themselves and against the claim of all other persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Silas Tanner hath hereunto set his hand and affixes his seal the day and date above. Signed and delivered in presence of

Hi Chris, I finally found the reference to your Josiah. He was in the
22nd Georgia Inf. Co. K. He enlisted Aug. 31, 1861 and was killed at
Petersburg, VA in 1864. The roster can be found at,
