Hello,

I just downloaded your Stisher GedCom from Ancestry
(http://data.ancestry.com/). Mary M. Stisher was a sister of my 3rd
great grandfather Henry J. Young. Their mother was Lydia Howard Young
Kilgore b: Oct 1820 GA d: 1 July 1917 Cullman Co AL. 1850 Meriwether Co
GA Census: Lydia YOUNG 30 GA, Jane Morris (surname or middle name?) 13
GA, Malissa 5 GA, Henry J. 1 GA. In 1870 Moses and Mary Stisher were
living in Haralson Co GA and Lydia Kilgore lived with them. She married
a Kilgore bet. 1850-1870 (I didn't find her in 1860). Family story has
it that Lydia's husband (Mr. Young) ran off and left them after Henry
was born (1849). I next find Lydia in 1900 again living with Moses and
Mary M. Stisher in Cullman Co AL; she also lived with them in 1910.
Lydia H. Kilgore is buried between 2 grandsons - Oscar Stisher & R.N.
(Newt) Stisher - at Holy Pond Cemetery. Her gravemarker reads Lydia H.
Kilgore "Mother of M.M. Stisher". Her maiden name - Howard - came from a
Young cousin who had a letter that had Lydia's maiden name in it.
According to 1900 & 1910 census Lydia was the mother of 7 children with
3 still living, I don't know who the 3rd was (Jane Morris??). Could
you tell me where you got the last name of Morris for Mary Stisher? I'm
beginning to wonder if Lydia had 3 husbands?! Perhaps she was married to
a Morris??

I've learned some new information on the Stishers from your GedCom! I
didn't know that Moses and Mary lived in Campbell Co GA in 1860. I need
to check there for Lydia Young Kilgore. I didn't know the exact date or
place of marriage for them. I'm so glad to have this information (even
though I am not a direct descendant of theirs). Gina Brown Swindle (a
descendant of Lydia Howard Young) is going to publish a book on the
Youngs and I'm sure that she would also like to have this information.
