I am researching the Platt family in FL and came upon your message
regarding the descendents of Joshua Platt. I am a descendent of Joshua
Platt--my maternal grandfather was Frank Elbert Platt. I have several
old family pictures, but they only go back as far as the early 1900's.
Frank Elbert's parents were Robert J. Platt and Sarah Elizabeth (Sally)
Coker, who were married in DeSoto county and moved to Sarasota County
sometime between 1897 and 1901. Would be glad to share info with you on

This is the correct bunch!!! I am the daughter of Jesse and Gloria
Boatwright. I will look through the info and make any corrections. It
will be a few days, as I will need to verify some of the info with my
aunt Marjorie. The rest of mom's brothers and sisters are all dead
now. This weekend we will be attending the Boatwright family reunion in
Zolfo Springs, FL and next weekend (the 28th) we will be hosting what we
call the Gathering of the Clans here in Sarasota at Longwood Run Park.
This is a combination of my husband's family and my family. Last year
we had appx. 100 attend. Do you live in the area? If so, you are more
than welcome to come and meet some of the family. If interested, let me
know and I will provide more specifics.

Dorothy T. and I were together this past Sunday. We visited Olive Mae
Platt Hoffman, 98 year old sister to Frank Elbert Platt and my great
aunt. Her mind is as sharp as ever and she is a wealth of information.
She was able to help me identify folks in some old pictures I had found
in my mother's things.

Thanks for the quick response. We have just gotten our computer and I
was doing some research when I came upon your entry. Will keep in
touch.
