Oil
Painting by MRS. BETTY CATO of Conyers painted from 2 black &
white original photos taken of a very familiar site known to many
Porterdale residents as WOOD'S GROCERY. Although not located
inside the city limits of Porterdale, it was actually just across the
creek on Hwy 81 but frequented by mainly residents of Porterdale. Owned
and operated by Mr. & Mrs. WILLIAM ALFRED WOOD. The lumber used in
construction of this establishment was obtained from the OLD FORT McPherson in
Atlanta GA. and constructed by JAMES FLECHER BAILEY SR. |
