Homer worked as a pipe fitter for the Bibb for many years and lived on Elm Street.

Homer Lee Gunn

 

Homer Lee Gunn, of Oxford, died March 25, 2009, at Riverside Health Care Center, at the age of 90. Son of the late James W. and Lillie Frances Dearing Gunn, he was a member of Apostolic Community Church in Porterdale. Mr. Gunn was an Army veteran of World War II, retired from Bibb Manufacturing, and was an avid fisherman. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Herring Gunn, son, Chester Cook and grandson, Rev. Michael Cook.

Survivors include grandchildren, Debbie and Billy Kittle of Oxford, Betty Cook of Niceville, FL; great-grandchildren, Christopher Kittle, Jesse Cook, Jordan Cook, Faith Cook, Marlina Smith, Steven Cook; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Gunn will be held Saturday, March 28, 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Rd, with Rev. Robert Nash and Rev. William Herndon officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 27, from 6-9 PM.
