Erma Kitchens Sears

Mrs. Erma Mae Sears of Porterdale, GA died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at St. Josephs Health System, at the age of 88. The daughter of the late John Henry and Maggie Lou Leveritt Kitchens, she was the oldest living member of Porterdale Presbyterian Church. She was a devout Christian lady and a loyal friend. Mrs. Sears loved her family and friends and was an avid Braves fan. She had been employed with Bibb Mfg. Co. as a spinner for 40 years, and was also a retired Registered Dietician. She enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting and cooking. Mrs. Sears was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Mayson Sears.

Mrs. Sears is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Benny Hall; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Marsha Sears; Ronnie and Becky Sears; and Jamie Robertson, all of Covington, GA; grandchildren, David and Angela Hall, Susan Hall, Lisa and Tim Singley, Varlorie and Keven Patrick, Christy and Don Irvin, Tammy and Darrell Cheek and Bethany Sears; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Opal Henry, Covington, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sears will be held Sunday, April 15, 2007 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home. Rev. Herman Goddard and Dr. J. Edward Salter will officate with interment at Porterdale Baptist Cemetery. Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home Covington, GA 770-786-7062
