The Fagans
In my opinion, the FAGAN surname is the "mother" surname. It tends to be the most common variation of all. Here are members of the Fagan family:

My father (Alton Rudolph Fagan) is 70 years old and is returning today
from a missionary trip into the jungles of Brazil. He is the retired
President of the Stewardship Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention here
in Nashville.
I am the eldest of his and my mother's (Florrie) four children - Vicki Lynn
Fagan Hutchings. I am 45 and have 3 sons and 2 stepsons; three
daughter-n-laws and three grandchildren. I work full time as the Vice
President of Finance and Comptroller of an Insurance Company (ASMBA) am a
CPA and an Enrolled Agent. My husband is a Manufacturing Engineer.
The second of "Rudy's" children is Max Douglas Fagan (43).
He is a Judge in > Robertson County Tennessee. He has three children.
The third sibling is Myra Ann Fagan McCain. She is restoring a 1900s
farmhouse with her husband and two children. The fourth sibling is Amanda
Lee Fagan Wells. She is a Computer Programmer and does consulting
in-between tending to her husband and two children.
Rudy and Florrie are taking all their children and spouses to Ireland/Scotland
next year and I was hoping to have some direction to "dig" towards
over there.
