   General Notes:

FAYMETTA STEELE PROWS
Written by herself in 1993 for the book “Memoirs of Mahonri Moriancummer Steele, Jr.

Making my earthly appearance in the Mahonri Moriancumer Steele Jr and Charlotte Moore Le Fevre Steele-s family swelled their ranks to seven. I am grateful I was privileged to be born of goodly parents and to be numbered among a family which did not stop at seven but eventually numbered twelve. I am thankful for the love and laughter, heartaches and tears along the way we have shared together. As I look back over my sixty-one years and stop to evaluate myself, I find that I am the least among this large family in worthwhile accomplishments; yet this feeling of belonging, of having a place in this family group, means a great deal to me.

My education was constantly interrupted by the many moves the family made, but I managed to get through the grades and three years of high school and took a short course at the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. I never really excelled or used the knowledge I gained in the business field, as I married shortly after coming home.

I married Sheridon John Prows in the Salt Lake Temple, and to this union was born one son. We names him Bernard “L”. He has always been a dutiful son. We are so very thankful he came to bless our home. We were never blessed with much wealth, as far as earthly possessions are concerned, and at times have seen some very lean years, as we married just at the beginning of the depression, but we managed to see that Bernard had a high school education and served a two-year mission. On his own efforts, he has graduated from college and received his master’s degree in the field of science. He is at present teaching in the Virgin Valley High School and lives in the town of Bunkerville, Nevada where he is busily engaged in the ward as a member of the bishopric. But most important of all, he has married a wonderful companion in the temple, and his family does not stop at one but numbers five, two daughters and three sons.

Sheridon and I have lived all our married lives in Kanosh, Millard County, Utah with the exception of the past three years. Not having a large family to occupy my time, I busied myself with church and civic positions. My testimony has grown as I have served in the church, and I am grateful for the many opportunities afforded to me to be of service in the Lord’s work.

We moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1960 to find employment. I am presently working for the Howlett Olson Egg Company. If our health and jobs hold out, we will remain here until we both reach the age of retirement. We will then return to our home in Kanosh.
