Simon Karns and family

Simon was the eldest son of John Heft and Rachel (Hixson) Karns. He was born 16 June 1847 near Clearville, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. He married Englebert "Bertie" Mearkle 20 July 1871; he died on 9 March 1912. They had eleven children. We have information on some of the children and their families, but not all of them. Simon and Englebert are buried in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Clearville, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. A large family gathering shown here gives several family connections.
