Maria (Karns) Bishop Smith
Maria was a daughter of John Heft and Rachel (Hixson) Karns. She married, first, Wilbert Bishop, by whom she had four children. After his death she married Anthony S. Smith, by whom she had eight children. We know that she has children buried in cemeteries in Bedford County, including daughter Rose (Smith) Craig in the Everett Cemetery. One of her descendants, Harold "Hal" Smith, son of Crummel and Mabel (Sparks) Smith is a family history researcher, and contributed substantially to this album.
