John Mearkle Karns and family
John was the eldest of the children of Alva and Salome (Mearkle) Karns. Born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania on 11 July 1881, he married Anna Matilda Bussard on 22 Oct 1903. They had eight children, one of whom died in infancy. They later moved to Bucklin, Kansas where they lived for many years.
