Page 4 of letter to Betty Bouse of Enid, Oklahoma, by Louise (Delph) Mearkle. Louise was the wife of the youngest son (William W.) of Henry Mearkle. Henry, son of Henry and Lovis (Steckman) Mearkle, was the one held in Libby prison during the Civil War. He was the father of the Amos K., who came to Oklahoma and changed his name to Bouse. (Her saying she has been alone five years confirms that this letter was written in 1959, since her husband died 2 July 1954.)
