Jackson's Mill Bridge, built and rebuilt by Karns family members

The Jackson's Mill Bridge was built in 1875 by Adam Karns Bottenfield and Jacob Pee. After it was moved downstream by the Johnstown Flood of 1889, it was reset by John G. Rohm, Jr. and William B. Karns. Adam Karns Bottenfield's Karns ancestry is this: Adam < Hannah (Karns) Bottenfield < Peter Karns < Philip Karns Sr. Adam Karns Bottenfield's wife, Sarah, was a sister of Jacob Pee, so they were brothers-in-law. William's Karns ancestry is this: William < John P. < Peter < Philip Karns Sr. He was a first cousin of Adam Karns Bottenfield, one of the original builders of the bridge. We do not have John G. Rohm, Jr. in our records, but there were intermarriages of members the Rohm families and families related to the Karns.
