A scene at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and LaBelle Street, Boscobel, Grant County, Wisconsin, in 1870. It was from this town that Charles Ladd departed for service in the Union Army during the Civil War. He was inducted in Madison on 16 Jan 1864. His military records give Boscobel as his residence. His family also is recorded as living in Mount Hope in 1860, in Lancaster in 1855, and in Bloomingdale, Winnebago County, in 1850. We do not now know the source of this fine old photograph. We plead indulgence if it is a coprighted image.
