The 1870 Federal Census reported Charles, age 24, and Henrietta, age 21, in the village of Sylvester, Green County, Wisconsin, with a post office location of Juda. At this time their daughters Louella "Ella" and Ina were at home, ages 3 and 1. The family was living with Eli Staninger, age 28, a farmer, and Henry Staninger, age 24. Eli was listed as a farmer and head of the household. Charles was listed as a laborer and Henrietta as keeping house. Juda is a few miles north of the Illinois line in south central Wisconsin. We find no other record of Sylvester.
