Mary Matilda "Mamie" Anderson was born 17 Nov 1881 in Marquette, Hamilton County, Nebraska. She married Elno Boyd Ladd on 18 Mar 1902 in Cushing, Payne County, Oklahoma. They had seven children, all of whom grew to adulthood. Elno died in 1918 of pneumonia brought on by the flu epidemic, and Mary maintained the farm and home, with the help of the older children, for ten years. On 28 Mar 1928 she married William Marshall "Will" Hood. Mary died 21 Oct 1963 in Cushing, Payne County, Oklahoma. She is buried in Parland Cemetery, Lincoln County, Oklahoma, southeast of Cushing.
