Some documents of importance in the life of Forrest Ladd Sr.
Forrest was a farm hand on his parents' farm during his young working years. After he and Bonnie married in 1926, he farmed 80 acres he leased from his mother. It was across the road from her farm. A little later, he supplemented his income as a bus driver for Happy Valley school. Later, he was a long-haul truck driver, mainly hauling gasoline. In the early 1940s he trained to become a machinist, and followed that trade for the balance of his working years. In the late 1950s his health failed, due to a combination of iron dust from the machine shop work and his life-long smoking habit. His last few years were spent as a semi-invalid suffering from emphysema. He died of pneumonia as a complication developing out of his emphysema.
