This view of the site of the early house Forrest and Bonnie lived in looks east directly across the place where the house stood. The traces of where the stones were placed to form the footing of the house can barely be seen. The kitchen/dining area was on the west (foreground) and the living/bedroom area was on the east. It had a south door in the west room; it also had a north door in the east room, although that door was seldom used. It was heated by a pot-belly stove in the east room and the wood range in the west room. The house was there in 1926; we do not know when it was built or by whom. Larry Wolff, an elderly neighbor, says that the house was dismantled for its lumber. We moved away about 1936 to 1938. This photo was taken on Memorial Day, 29 May 2006.
