Family of Daniel and Beulah Ann Stillwell
Daniel died in 1852 at the age of forty. He must have moved recently from Miami County, where he lived during the 1850 census, to the Greenville area of Darke County, Ohio, where he died two years later. He left property in Darke County, located a few miles northwest of Greenville, at his death. He and Beulah Ann had six children, five of whom grew to adulthood. Since photography was not commonly available at that time, we believe that no pictures exist of either Daniel or his wife Beulah Ann. We believe there probably are no pictures existing of their children Mary or their last child, Caleb. We are thankful to have pictures of Susannah "Susan," Hannah Jane, and William Henry, and believe it likely that somewhere there may be pictures of Isaac "Pony" Stilwell. (Note that the family used both the Stilwell and Stillwell spellings at that time. Some, notably Isaac, maintained the British-style Stilwell spelling, while William Henry's families were split in their preferred spelling. Some, notably his son John, kept the Stilwell form, while his son Harry used the Stillwell spelling.)
