Isaac "Pony" Stilwell

Isaac E. "Pony" Stillwell, son of Daniel and Beulah Ann Stilwell. Pony lived from 29 Jan 1840 to 3 Nov 1917. He was born in Troy, Staunton Township, Miami County, Ohio. He served in the Ohio Volunteer Infantry from 1861 to 1864. He was in Regiment 34, Companies K and G. He enlisted 12 Sept 1861 for 3 years. He was discharged from Company K on 19 Sept 1864, having served his enlistment time. He was sick intermittently from 23 Apr to 9 Sept 1864 with fever. According to one affadavit, he was ill and in the hospital at Gallipolis, Ohio when his regiment was mustered out. He was honorably discharged at Columbus, Ohio in Oct. of 1864. He never married. He is buried in the Waynoka, Oklahoma Cemetery. Some additional glimpses of his life are found in the census albums.
