Directory: Ray Stillwell and Family
Oscar Ray Stillwell was the firstborn son of Harry Mote and Lucinda "Lou" (Smith) Stillwell. Born on 4 Mar 1901, Ray spent his youth in the area of Cushing, Payne County, Oklahoma. In his late teens (probably at age seventeen) Ray joined the U. S. Navy, and spent a long career there. Ray was married twice, first to Mildred McKinney on 21 Oct 1922. Photography was popular at the time they were dating, so we have several pictures of them during courtship and early marriage. The marriage did not last, and there were no children. Ray married Eula Flossie Gordon on 5 Dec 1931. Eula had a son, Gordon MacLaughlan, whom Ray adopted. Eula was born in Temple, Cotton County, Oklahoma on 16 Feb 1908. Ray and Eula had two sons, Donald Raymond "Donnie" and Russell Jay "Russ." Donnie never married, and died on 12 Sept 1993 at the age of 53. Russ married Barbara Ruth Gaylord on 26 June 1961. They had three children, Alicia Ruth, Jeremy Donald, and Michelle. Alicia married John Paul Jackson and Jeremy married Stephanie Shipman. Michelle is unmarried, but is reported in 2008 to have a boyfriend. After Barbara's death, Russ and Margaret Murillo were married in Sept 2001. Russ was briefly married to Jean Eichler in 2000, but that marriage did not last. Jeremy is the only child of Russ who has children of his own, so a disporportionate number of pictures feature Jeremy and his family.
