Forrest and Jean (Karns) Ladd
Forrest grew up in central Oklahoma, while Jean grew up in Western Kansas. Forrest's home town area was around Cushing, Oklahoma. Jean grew up near Ford, Kansas which is 18 miles east of Dodge City. Both of them were members of the Church of the Nazarene, and both attended the church's college, Bethany-Peniel College, in Bethany, Oklahoma. They were married two years after they graduated. In the interim, Jean taught in the Garden City, Kansas High School and Forrest attended the Nazarene Theological Seminary and the University of Oklahoma.
