In this 1850 census of Greenville Township, Darke County, Ohio taken on 3 Sept 1850, Phebe Hiller, age 9, was listed in the home of Alexander and Martha Hays. James Hiller, age 11, also was in this home, along with five Hays children. Martha was Phebe's mother, and her second marriage was to Alexander Hays in 1847. Her first husband and Phebe's father, Nathan Hiller, had died a year or two earlier.
