Forrest E. Ladd, 58, of Rt. 1, Cushing, died Monday morning
in the University Medical Center in Oklahoma City after a long illness.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a. m. Thursday in the Memorial Chapel of the Fairley
Funeral Home [Cushing, Oklahoma] with Rev. Robert Weathers, pastor of the Nazarene
Church officiating. Casket bearers will be Mr. Ladd's nephews. Mrs. Floyd
Garrison and Mrs. Albert Hayter will sing "How
Great ThouArt" and "In The Garden."
Mr. Ladd was born May 5, 1907 near Ripley
and moved with his parents, to a farm southeast of Cushing when he was a small
boy. He had lived in Tulsa for about 10 years before he moved to his present
home south of Cushing in 1957. He was married to Bonnie G. Stillwell in 1925
at Chandler, Okla. He had worked as a truck driver and machinist until his ill
health forced him to retire about 1953.
He is survived* by one son, Dr. Forrest
E. Ladd, Jr., of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Linda Lou) Nicholson
of Bethany, Okla., and Miss Barbara Joan Ladd, of Bethany Nazarene College in
Bethany; three sisters, Mrs. Loyd Haskins of Cushing; Mrs. George Gooch of Stroud,
and Mrs. Arthur Beall, of Blue Jacket, Okla.; three brothers, Everett and Roy
Ladd, both of Cushing and Floyd Ladd, of Ft. Worth, Tex., and one grandchild.
* NOTE: In Feb. 2007, Forrest Jr. lived in Spanish
Cove Retirement Village, Yukon, Oklahoma.
Linda Nicholson lived in Nampa, Idaho. Joan Clark lived in Kent, Washington.
The only other survivors still living were Nila (Mrs. Loyd) Haskin of Ripley,
Oklahoma, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
(Neither
the name of the newspaper nor the date were included in clipping, but the Cushing
Daily Citizen is the most likely source. Forrest died 20 December
1965.)
