Funeral services for William M. Hood, 81 year old Cushing man of 1139 E. Second who died Saturday morning were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Fairley Memorial Chapel with Eldon Patterson, minister of the True Followers church officiating.

Mrs. Floyd Anderson and Mrs. Marlin Haskin sang a duet, "Farther Along," "Take My Hand, Precious Lord" and "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be". Mrs. Leroy Linduff played the piano accompaniment.

Casket bearers were grandsons of Mr. Hood, Larry Baker, Dale Haskins, Eddie and Don Beard, Donald Hood and Forrest Ladd Jr.

Interment under the direction of the Fairley Funeral Home was in the Flynn Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Hood was born in Benton County, Arkansas, Aug. 15, 1886. He came to Oklahoma in 1897 with his parents and they settled in the Cushing area. He was active in farming in the Cushing area until he retired and moved into Cushing and made his home where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married to Mary Engleheardt in Stroud, Okla. in 1904. She preceded him in death July 8, 1927. He married Mamie Ladd in March 1928 and she preceded him in death Oct. 21, 1963. He was a member of the True Followers church.

Surviving were four daughters, Mrs. Lola Beard, Drumright, Mrs. Opal Revis, Montclair, Calif., Mrs. Dorothv Franks, San Bernardino, Calif and Mrs. Vera Baker, Ardmore; three sons, Leonard of Shamrock, Floyd and Elmer of Cushing, three step daughters, Mrs. Ruby Gooch of Stroud, Mrs. Nila Haskins of Cushing and Mrs. Lela Beall of Bluejacket, Okla.; three step sons, Floyd Ladd of Ft. Worth, Texas, Everett Ladd and Roy Ladd of Cushing; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Scott of Nivita, Okla., and Cordia Herrington of Bristow, Okla., 31 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one step son Forrest Ladd.
