I. M. Dawson

 

Isom Martin Dawson was born February 27, 1863, and died February 3, 1936. He moved with his parents as a child to Jasper county, Missouri. He was married October 5, 1884, to Allie M. Cannady at Sarcoxie, Mo. In 1899 he moved his family to Stafford county, Kansas and after 5 years there moved to a farm near Ford. In 1912 he moved to Ford where he lived until his death. He was converted at the age of 26 in Missouri but did not join a church until coming to Kansas when he joined the Methodist church. He is survived by wife, Allie M. Dawson and his 10 children, Mrs. W. P. Warner, C. C. Dawson, G. E. Dawson, J. O. Dawson, Elmer Dawson, Mrs. Arthur Karns, Homer Dawson, Mrs. Elmer Karns, all of Ford; Mrs, Eugene Riley of Palco; Mrs. Clarice Smith of Dodge City, also 27 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
