Pioneer Ford Resident Dies In Home

FORD—Mrs. Allie M. Dawson, who would have been 80 years old June 15 and a resident here 41 years, died Saturday at her home.

 

Funeral services for the well-known pioneer woman will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Nazarene church here with the Rev. August Brandes of Clearwater, the minister. Burial will be in Ford cemetery with Hulpieu-Morgan and Swaim in charge.

 

I. M. Dawson, her husband, died a few years ago. A daughter, Mrs. Clarice Smith, and three

grandchildren also preceded Mrs. Dawson in death.

 

Mrs. Dawson's interests were chiefly in her family and the church. Surviving are five sons and four daughters, C. C. Dawson, E. E. Dawson, Homer Dawson, Mrs. W. P. Warner, Mrs. Arthur Karns and Mrs. Elmer Karns of Ford; Jo Dawson, Elmer Dawson and Mrs. Elta Riley of Dodge City; also 27 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Cannaday of Minneola and Lester Cannaday of Denver; and a sister, Mrs. Ella Jenkins of Denver. Mrs. Jenkins has been here helping care for Mrs. Dawson.
