Ford Resident Dies in Colorado

 

G. Everett Dawson, 86, a longtime resident of Ford, died Wednesday, March 31, in a Lamar, Colorado rest home. He was born November 15, 1889, at Sarcoxie, Missouri, the son of Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Dawson.

 

The family moved to Ford County in 1905. Mr. Dawson and Flore Ethel Febeck were married in 1912. Mr. Dawson farmed in the Ford community for many years and was retired. He moved to Lamar, Colorado about five years ago.

 

Survivors include four sons, Wilbur of Two Buttes, Colorado, Herbert and Kenneth of Granada, Colorado, and Donald of Broomfield, Colorado; a brother, Elmer of Dodge City; three sisters, Mrs. Lillie Warner of Bucklin, Mrs. Verna Karns of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Elta J. Riley of Ventura, California; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church of Ford with the Rev. Roy Brotton officiating. Burial was in the Ford Cemetery.
