WARNER-LOCKMAN NUPTIALS NEAR FORD

 

Miss Nellie Warner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Warner of Ford and Mr. Archie Lockman of Dodge City were married Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Karns, two miles east of Ford. Mr. and Mrs. Karns are uncle and aunt of the bride. The Rev. R. O. Schmidt, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church at Ford performed the ceremony.

 

The vows were before an improvised altar of blue and white larkspur, tamarix, and pink and white tulle. Baskets of garden flowers and pink tapers completed the decorations. Little Eleanor Reigel lighted the tapers. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Beryl Lohner sang I Love You Truly, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Neva Reigel. Mrs. Reigel played the wedding march from Lohengrin by Wagner as the processional and during the ceremony, Dream of Love by Lizst. Shirley Snook, niece of the bride, was the flower girl and Larry Dean Snook, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

 

The bride wore a shell pink crepe dress with a fitted lace blouser and white accessories and carried a bouquet of pink rose buds tied with white satin ribbon. Following the ceremony a reception was held and the three tiered wedding cake made by the bride's mother, centered the refreshment table.

 

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warner. She is a graduate of the Ford high school and has been employed as bookkeeper at the State Soldiers home, Fort Dodge. Mr. Lockman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Lockman of Winona, Mo. He is a graduate of the Kansas State Teachers college at Emporia and for the past year has taught in the schools at Horton. They will make their home at 1000 Avenue D.

 

The guests included: Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Warner, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Dawson, Mrs. F. M. Coffman, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Powell, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Dawson, Mr. Neva Reigel, the Rev. and Mrs. R. O. Schmidt, Mrs. C. C. Dawson and daughters, Pearle, Dorothy and Bernice, and son Vernon, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dawson and daughter, Mildred, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Karns and daughter, Bethene and son, Glenn, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Snook and family, Lenes Close, Miss Eleanor Riegel, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Karns and family, all of Ford, Mrs. Veta Riegel of Garden City, Wallace Devoe, Mrs. Ed Cobb, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Devoe, Mrs. Beryl Lohner and Miss Lena Cobb of Dodge City.
