FORMER SCHOOL TEACHER DIES AT WASHINGTON, D.C.
Osa Evelyn Jay, 60, formerly of Bucklin; died Thursday, February 2, at Washington, D. C.
She was born July 23, 1906, in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, and moved from Bucklin to Washington, D.C. in 1939. Miss Jay was a school teacher in Ford County. She was a member of the Bucklin Methodist Church, OES, and Business and Professional Women's Club.
She is survived by brothers: Clifford, Merle and Fred, all of Leoti; Roy of Ness City; Clarence of Long Beach, California; Albert of Anaheim, California; sisters: Mrs. Hazel Ramsey of Seibert, Colorado; Mrs. Fern Eves, Garden City; and Mrs. Wanda Ratzlaff of Minneola.
Services were held Tuesday, February 28, 1967 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Methodist Church in Bucklin with the Rev. W. Claude Fillingim officiating.
Soloist was Mrs. Helen Nease who sang "Sweet By and By" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Iris Stephenson played the organ.
Casket bearers were nephews of the deceased: Dennis Jay, Wilbur Jay, Max Jay, Ron Jay, Bruce Jay, and Larry Eves.
Burial was in Bucklin Cemetery, Bucklin, Kansas.
