Obituary
Mrs. Anna Matilda Karns died Friday morning, February 5, 1965, at the Bucklin Community Hospital after being a patient there for nearly one year. She was born September 13, 1883, to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bussard in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, where she grew to young womanhood.
After teaching school for several years she was married to John M. Karns, October 22, 1903. The couple came to Kansas in 1911 and lived on a farm near Mullinville until 1918 when they moved to their present farm home in Ford County. Since the fall of 1956 they have resided in Bucklin.
Her life was centered around the activities of her home and family. She had accepted Christ as her Saviour as a young girl, was baptized in the Christian Church and maintained this faith throughout the years. Her courage, faithfulness and patience will always be an inspiration to her family and friends. She was very appreciative and grateful for the constant and loyal devotion of her daughter, Helen, who ministered so faithfully to her throughout her long illness.
Mrs. Karns is survived by the widower, John; three sons: Melvin E. of Princeton, New Jersey, Carl S. of Santa Barbara, California and Elbert E. of Anadarko, Oklahoma; three daughters, Mrs. Mary C. Braun of Windsor, Colorado, Mrs. Helen A. Loomis of Bucklin, and Mrs. Alma B. Scott of Hoquaim, Washington; one brother, Marshall Bussard of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two children, an infant daughter, Roma Ruth, and a grown son, Harold.
