Phi Beta Kappa Accepts Ladd Into Society

 

Dr. Forrest Ladd, associate professor of psychology, has been accepted into Phi Beta Kappa, national honor society. Membership in Phi Beta Kappa demands the highest scholastic achievement in the recipient's chosen field. The honor was granted in recognition of Dr. Ladd's achievements in the fields of psychology and philosophy.

 

Dr. Ladd received his A.B. at Bethany Nazarene College, M.A. at the University of Oklahoma, and Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Kansas.

 

In his fourth year of teaching at BNC, Dr. Ladd is at the present time chairman of the psychology department. He was elected this fall to serve as sponsor of Social Science Club. Dr. Ladd is active in the College Church as teacher of the largest class in the college department.

[The year would have been about 1959. The University of Kansas, from which Ladd earned the Ph.D. degree, has a Phi Beta Kappa chapter that takes note of the undergraduate academic achievement of graduate students from schools that have no Phi Beta Kappa chapter. This was the basis of Ladd's selection for membership.]

Dr. Forrest Ladd, head of our department of psychology, was recently notified of his election to Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. As a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, Dr. Ladd received this recognition because of his achievements in the fields of psychology and philosophy.
