Cornwell - Karns
At a 5 o'clock candlelight ceremony Saturday evening. October 8, at the Church of the Nazarene in Ford, Colleen Karns, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer M. Karns and Donald E. Cornwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cornwell, Osborne, were married by Dr. Hoyt C. Roberts, pastor of the church, before an altar backed with white candelabra and baskets of white gladioli and yellow mums. Pre-ceremony vibraharp selections were played by Mrs. Richard Powers of Ft. Worth, Tex. The soloist, Mrs. Floyd Shrauner, Elkhart, who sang O Perfect Love, If I Could Tell You, and Wedding Prayer, was accompanied by Mrs. Harold Wooten who also played the traditional wedding marches.
The bride, accompanied to the altar by her father, wore a gown of blush satin topped with a white lace bodice and white tulle skirt highlighted by appliqued rose designs embroidered with sequins and beads. Her short veil fell from a cap designed to match her dress, and she carried a white orchid on a white Bible with a cascade of ribbon knotted with rose buds.
Mrs. Forrest E. Ladd, Jr. of Bethany, Okla. matron of honor for her sister, wore a floor length gown of aqua taffeta with a tulle skirt and stole. Both her head-piece and dress were fashioned similar to the bride's. She carried a bouquet of mixed garden flowers. Miss Carolyn Kay Karns, Pratt, cousin of the bride, lighted the tapers, and Miss Karen Cornwell, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Both wore yellow floor length dresses patterned like the bride's, and floral wristlets. Kenneth Cornwell, Osborne, brother of the groom, acted as best man. The ushers were Glenn Karns, Pratt, and Forrest Ladd, Bethany.
The bride's mother wore charcoal with rose and black accessories. The groom's mother wore turquoise with beige and black accessories. Both wore corsages of rose buds nestled in glad blossoms.
The reception immediately following the ceremony was held at the City Hall. Mmes. Roy Haley, S. E. Brink, A. F. Powell, E. H. Patterson, W. P. Warner, Maynard Snook, A. A. Lockman, Richard Powers and Misses Bethene Karns, Deanna Lockman, Carolyn Lockman, and Marilee Snook assisted. Miss Patricia Krey, Cheney, was in charge of the guest book.
For traveling, the bride wore a light blue wool crepe two-piece suit and a matching blue hat with pearlized charcoal accessories. After a honeymoon in Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Cornwell will be at home at 542 Barkley Road, Mission, Kans. The bride attended Bethany Nazarene College and Wichita University, and is a graduate of Oklahoma University. The bridegroom attended Bethany Nazarene College and is attending Kansas City University. Both are employed at the Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City, Mo.

N. Close and Dick, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lamb and Anita of Bethany, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wooten and Norma, Donna Jean Burr, Homer Dawson, Mr. and Mrs. George Snowbarger of Dodge City.
