The Fuqua Database
The Fuqua Databases contain over 34,000
family members. They have been compiled by Claire Fuqua, based on original research and the results of research
conducted by family members who are
dedicated to building the database.
No claim is made regarding the accuracy of the information included in the
databases. Although some of the information has been proven, and sources
can be cited, the bulk represents work accomplished by ordinary family
members with varying degrees of genealogical skill. In many cases, they did not record the source of the information they assembled.
Every effort has been made to apply logic and reasonableness to the
compilation of information. In some cases submitted information has not
been included because of obvious errors. In those cases the submitters
were contacted and a joint effort was made to resolve the issues. When
issues were resolved, the information was added to the database. In rare
cases, submitters were unwilling to correct proven errors. In those cases
the erroneous information was rejected for compilation and inclusion in
Database information is offered, without charge or obligation, on the
basis that it represents a possible guide, or road map, which can be used
to facilitate traditional genealogical research.
Because those who were involved have moved on to other endeavors, the databases have essentially become static. They are presented here "as is, where is".
It is hoped that those who access the databases will find something of value.
The primary database has been split into three separate databases. The "Main" database includes family members whose connections to one another are defined. There should be no unconnected persons
in this database.
The "Fragmented" database includes individuals or small connected groups of people whose connection to those in the main database has not yet been established.
The "Black-Mulatto" database includes all persons who were so identified in the research records. They are presented separately for research convenience,
and no other reason. Those who are offended or who assume any other motive need to get a life.
It is hoped that users of these databases will submit additions/corrections to Claire at firstname.lastname@example.org. Such contributions would enhance the overall research
value of the databases, and would represent a painless "Thank you" for the thousands of hours which have been spent building them. It would be particularly beneficial
to establish connections between the people in the main and fragmented databases.

A few notes about using the databases:
There is no “search” capability. The Name Index must be used to find a person of interest (or not).
If a child who is listed in the Name Index does not have his own family, the index will link to his parent’s Family Page.
The Surnames List displays all of the surnames which are present in the database. For each surname, there is an indication of how many instances there are for that surname. Each surname links only to the first instance of that surname. Additional instances must be accessed through the Name Index.
Occasionally, a database does not load quickly. The only solution is patience.
