Comments: Hi there, I believe that I am related to Heinrich Furrer. I have read the Furr family history and I believe that he was my great-grandfather, 7 generations back. Sorry, I'm not quite sure how to phrase that. My grandmother's maiden was Beulah Furr, who was the daughter of George Franklin Furr and Annie Helms. Those two people are the names you have listed. However, there is no information about the children of this couple. My grandmother was married to Samuel Andrew Huneycutt in Stanly county, North arlolina. Beulah was born in 1893, which would have been 2 years after the marriage of George Franklin Furr and Annie Helms. I believe that I have the right family, but cannot find any information on my Grandfather's family in N.C. I am hoping that you may have the names of the children of George and Annie so if I am on the right track, I might be able to find information on the Huneycutt's. Please let me know if you have any more information. Tracey Tortorice

Comments: I was looking for background on Furrs in the U.K. The furthest I can go back is my grandfather, Richard William, who was born around the 1890's or 1900's - he was at the Somme in WWI. We're from Hertfordshire, just north of London. Anyway, can't help you much with American Furrs but it was fun browsing. One thing I was surprised about was how many names fit with Furr. I've just had a son and thinking of a name that fitted took ages. In the end, we chose Gabriel James. Nice to talk to you. Bye.

Comments: A few months ago I found some information on the Furrs from the Travellers Southern Families website. Now I am unable to access the information I got last time, so I landed here through an Altavista search on Heinrich Furrer. I am going to get back into this again, so I can document it for my son, who is now 7. My father's family is mostly from around northern Mississippi, especially around the small town of Hickory Flat. I have some more recent family tree info (branches) than was shown at the Traveller site. If you're interested, please reply.
