Notes for William Gerard
William and his wife were at Garards Fort, Pennsylvania and went to the Ohio
Territory with Elias, Joseph, and John Gerard and others in 1789. In 1793
William, wife and sons, Eli and Elias, and their daughter (Mrs. Christ)
settled at the Mouth of the Great Miami, known as Hayes Station. In 1796 they
all moved to Dearborn Co. Indiana (History of Dearborn and Ohio Counties,
Indiana, 1885). William, who fought in the Revolutionary War, is thought to be
a brother or cousin to Elias Gerard.
