Son of John Davidson & Elizabeth Hall. Father born in South 
Carolina in l778. Date of Mother birth unknown.

Samuel was the 2nd child born in Tenn Oct l9, l82l  
Moved with his parent to Macon Co., in l824 where 
he rented land for farming; staying there a short 
time, then moved to Macoupin Co.  
In l852* Samuel married Amanda Nuckols, dau of John 
and Ann Nuckols who came from Va. to this state.
