1.   Simeon PUTMAN was born before 1774 in Union County, South
Carolina. He died Oct 1849 in Franklin County, Tennessee.
Simeon was the was of John Putman and Sarah Howard.
Simeon married Margaret "Peggy" MERCER, daughter of Forrester MERCER and Ferebee, 
on 15 Dec 1802 in Barren County, Kentucky.
Margaret was born about 1782. She died after 1840.
They had the following children:

Mary married William GUTHRIE.

     +    8    M    vii. Thomas Monroe PUTMAN was born about 1818 and died 16 Dec 1872.
     +    9    M    viii.     Forrester PUTMAN was born 1822.




Second Generation

2.   Sarah PUTMAN (Simeon) was born 1803.
Sarah married Robert Wallace HOGE before 1831. 
Robert was born 1798 in Virginia.
They had the following children:

4.   Madison PUTMAN (Simeon) was born 6 Aug 1809 in Barren
County, Kentucky. He died 21 Apr 1882 in Llano County, Texas and
was buried in Putman Cemetery, Llano County, Texas.
Madison married Catherine Olivia DAVIDSON, on 26 Mar 1835 in Benton County, Alabama. 
Catherine was born 11 Jan 1817 in Georgia. She died 25 Jul 1899 in Llano County, Texas.
They had the following children:
          18   M    i.   John Washington PUTMAN was born 2 Aug 1837 in Randolph County, Alabama. 
He died after 1900 in Texas.
John married (1) Telitha Cumi CASNER, daughter of Martin CASNER and Jane MEDFORD, about 1860.

John also married (2) Eleta Cumi CASNER about 1860. Eleta was born about 1839 in Alabama.

          19   F    ii.  Margaret Susan PUTMAN was born 29 Jan 1839 in Randolph County, Alabama. 
She died 29 Jan 1892 in Mason, Mason County, Texas.
Margaret married (1) George W. SCOTT, son of John R. SCOTT and Elizabeth Meredith COTTON, 
on 1 Jan 1856 in Burnet County, Texas. George was born 16 Dec 1832 in Missouri. He died 
28 Mar 1920 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California.
Margaret also married (2) Frank MOODY.
John was born 1838 in Cage Williams Place, Missouri. He died 28 Mar 1920 in Los Angeles
County, Calfiornia.
          20   M    iii. Madison Dekalb PUTMAN Rancher was born 15 Dec 1841 in Randolph County, 
Alabama. He died 3 Feb 1915 in Escondido, San Diego County, California and was buried in Julian, 
San Diego County, California.
Madison married Louisa Jane CASNER, daughter of Martin CASNER and Jane MEDFORD, about 
1865 inTexas. Louisa was born 20 Sep 1845 in Travis County, Texas. She died 18 Feb 1906 
in Julian, San Diego County, California.
          21   F    iv.  Martha Emaline PUTMAN was born 10 Oct 1843 in Randolph County, Alabama. 
She died 1938 in California.
Martha married William C. BILLINGSLEY Surveyor, son of Elisha BILLINGSLEY, about 1866 in Texas. 
William was born 28 Sep 1833 in Gibson County, Tennessee. He died in California.
          22   M    v.   William Harvey PUTMAN Stockman was born 7 Nov 1848 in Williamson County, 
Texas. He died 9 Apr 1914 in Llano County, Texas and was buried in Putman Cemetery, Llano County, 
Texas.
William married (1) Hettie Caroline TEAGUE, daughter of Mr. TEAGUE and Sarah, on 7 Nov 1874 
in Texas. Hettie was born about 1856 in Alabama. She died 6 Aug 1894 in Texas.
William also married (2) Annie TEAGUE, daughter of TEAGUE and Sarah, on 22 Dec 1896 in Texas. 
Annie was born 14 Mar 1856 in Alabama.
          23   F    vi.  Rachel Olivia PUTMAN was born 11 Mar 1851 in Williamson Count, Texas. 
She died 7 Mar 1930 in Llano, Llano County, Texas and was buried in Honey Creek Cemetery.
Rachel married John Houston BILLINGSLEY CSA, son of Elisha BILLINGSLEY, on 26 Jul 1870 
in Llano County, Texas. John was born 16 Aug 1841 in Gibson County, Tennessee. 
He died 22 Dec 1926.
          24   M    vii. Simeon Mercer "Doc" PUTMAN Stockman was born 
16 Dec 1854 in Llano County, Texas. He died 23 May 1936 in Laredo, Webb County, Texas 
and was buried in Laredo, Webb County, Texas.
Simeon married Adeline Victoria STONE, daughter of Reuben Gilmore STONE Rev and Celia Lavina 
SCOTT, on 27 Oct 1877 in Mason County, Texas.
Adeline was born 13 Apr 1861 in Llano County, Texas. She died 26 Dec 1952 in Laredo, Webb County, 
Texas.
          25   F    viii.     Sarah Conzada "Connie" PUTMAN was born 18 Dec 1856 in Williamson
County, Texas. She died 28 Jul 1937 in Valley Spring, Llano County, Texas and was buried in Valley 
Spring, Llano County, Texas.
Sarah married (1) William EDWARDS, son of Charles George EDWARDS and Christiana 
FAULK-KEILMAN, on 18 Dec 1874 in Llano County, Texas. William was born 12 Mar 1849 in 
Bexar County, Texas. He died 12 Jun 1944 in Llano County, Texas.
          26   F    ix.  Arizona Lee PUTMAN was born 17 Mar 1859
in Llano County, Texas. She died 5 Sep 1938 in Llano, Llano County, Texas.
Arizona married James Reed "Jim" JACKSON, son of Isaac Newton JACKSON and Martha Elizabeth 
BARBER, on 7 Mar 1878 in Llano County, Texas. 
James was born 6 Sep 1857 in Texas. He died 19 Oct 1914 in Comanche, Comanche County, Texas.



5.   Tesila PUTMAN (Simeon) was born 1810/1815.

6.   Simeon H. PUTMAN (Simeon) was born 1815 in Tennessee. Simeon married Sarah Caroline 
TEAGUE, daughter of Samuel TEAGUE and Mary PEARSON, on 1 Nov 1837 in Benton County, 
Alabama. Sarah was born 12 Mar 1819 in Georgia.
They had the following children:

          29   M    ii.  William PUTMAN was born 1841 in Benton County, Alabama
          30   M    iii. John Howard PUTMAN was born 19 Oct 1844 in Benton County, Alabama.

John married Crena Frances ADKINS, daughter of Thomas M. ADKINS and Jane HAWKINS, 
on 26 Aug 1861 in St. Clair County, Alabama. Crena was born 12 Oct 1846 in Moody, St. Clair County, 
Alabama. She died 1899 in Naples, Morris County, Texas.

7.   Silas M. PUTMAN (Simeon) was born 1810/1815. He died 1 Sep 1846 in Monterey, Mexico.
Silas married Sarah "Sally" BURCH on 13 Dec 1838 in Benton County, Alabama.
Sarah was born 1824 in South Carolina.
They had the following children:

8.   Thomas Monroe PUTMAN (Simeon) was born about 1818 in Kentucky. He died 16 Dec 1872 
in Alabama. Thomas married (1) RICHMOND.
Thomas also married (2) Martha J. THOMAS about 1846. Martha was born 1830 in South Carolina.
They had the following children:

and Sarah PINSON, on 21 Feb 1839 in , Benton, AL. C. Ayrie BURCH
was born 1823 in , , SC. She died before Nov 1857 in Calhoun County, Alabama

To The Postmaster,
at Anniston, Alabama,

   My Father Madison Putman left Alabama between 1843 and 1848.  Father had 3
brothers, Simeon Putman, Foster (Forrester) Putman, and Silas Putman.  I can't
recall of Uncle Simeon's boys names, but Uncle Foster had 2, Joe and John, and
Uncle Silas had only one,  his was named after his father, Silas.  Father had
three sisters.  Sarah, she married a Hoge, a widower who had 2 deaf and dumb
boyd.  Aunt Tesila married a Aves/Avas (?).  Aunt Mary married a William
Guthrie.  If you can't find of them,  please send me the name of the best
newspaper.  Try to locate some one of the Fore said and hand them this letter
and oblige an old lady.  That is very poor a reward.  As ever, Sarah Putman
Edwards.

(Following was typed on Sarah Putman Edwards' had written letter and returned
to her in envelope postmarked Anniston, Ala  Nov 17, 1931.)

"I am sorry I cannot locate any of the parties mentioned.  You may write the
Anniston Star daily newspaper in the city and perhaps thru their colums (sic)
