The first Annual Family Reunion of the descendants of Ulrich Gindlesperger sponsored by the Gindlesperger Family History Association, Inc., (GFHA)
was held at the Christ, Casebeer, Lutheran Church Grove/Building from 9:00 a.m. to dusk on Saturday, August 21, 1999. This Reunion celebrated the 250th anniversary of the arrival of Ulrich and his wife in America
aboard the Phoenix on Friday, September 15, 1749, and featured information about the earliest generations of the Gindlesperger family.
Several branches of the Gindlesperger family have held regular reunions over the years. The descendants of Samuel Gindlesperger have done
so for fifty consecutive years and intermittently before that. The Gindlesperger Family History Association, Inc., hopes to unite representatives of all branches of the family organizationally on its Board of
Trustees and personally and socially in annual reunions. Among the purposes of the GFHA are to stimulate and publish family history research and to celebrate the history, lore, and accomplishments of the
Gindlesperger family. The Annual Meeting of members of the GFHA was held at 4:00 p.m. at the reunion site.
All descendants of Ulrich Gindlesperger and all other persons interested in the Gindlesperger family (with whatever spelling they happen
to have inherited) and its history were welcomed. Members of the GFHA set up a display of historical documents, photographs, and other items. Others were encouraged to bring their own items for display and research
for sharing.
