OUR GOALS

 

1. Confirm relationships with a specific ancestor where we have only circumstantial evidence.
2. Compare Gobles in other states/provinces/countries where we believe but have no proof our earliest-known ancestor was born.
3. Determine whether our lines are German, English, French, etc., and possibly mixed with Native American.

 

TO ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS

WE NEED AS MANY DNA PARTICIPANTS WORLDWIDE AS POSSIBLE

 

*Most brick walls seem to occur in the 1700s or 1600s when censuses and tax lists were scarce. Our combined efforts could break down those brick walls where a paper trail seems not to exist, and provide the proof we need biologically.

 

We have chosen to have our DNA testing done by FamilyTreeDNA

 

• Your name and DNA information will never be released without your permission. Here is their Privacy-Confidentiality Policy.
• "Roots for Real" in England which specializes in female DNA testing said regarding FamilyTreeDNA's program, "Mike Hammer, behind the company, is probably the world expert."  Here is the staff and qualifications
• Our Goble Project has obtained a discount for all who participate through our group instead of individually.  Just do a search from FamilyTreeDNA's home page for our surname and it will tell you how many we have participating so far (we began our project in November 2003).

 

• Y-DNA12 - - Male 12 marker paternal test....$99.00 (Group)
• Y-DNA25 - - Male 25 marker paternal test....$148.00 (Group)
• Y-DNA37 - - Male 37 marker paternal test....$189.00 (Group)
• Y-DNA67 - - Male 67 marker paternal test....$269.00 (Group)

• Pay by credit card or request an invoice.  (If you cannot find enough funds from family members or special occasions, we might be able to locate some help for you.  Just send a confidential message to the Project Coordinator below. )
• The kit is mailed to your home and just requires a simple saliva swab.
• Because we are a surname group, only MALES still carrying the Goble (and variations) name can turn in a test.
