Reunion – Branson, MO
Business Meeting
June 30, 2007
Meeting to order: President Evelyn Goble Steen called the triennial
business meeting of the Goble Family Association to order at 2:00 PM.
Association Finances: The Association financial statement was reviewed with
the group. Balance in the treasury after
all expenses of the 2007 reunion are paid will be $467.31. The budget for the next year was presented. The Association account will be moved to a
bank to be selected by the new President/Treasurer who will be the only signer
on the account.
- Motion:
It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the budget as presented.
Association Newsletter: Sally Goble Meyer from Santa Clara, California
volunteered to be the Editor of the Association Newsletter. Barbara Volker will handle the mailing.
Reunion 2010: The next reunion will be in the western USA. Barbara Volker has volunteered to coordinate
it. She asked for any suggestions that
people might have regarding the reunion site.
It was pointed out that there is no provision in the Association Charter
for determining the location for reunions.
- Motion
to amend Charter: It was moved, seconded and carried to rotate the
Goble Family Association Reunion from central to west to east to central
USA every three years.
Goble DNA Project: Evelyn
reported that there has been very poor response by Goble males from the Thomas
Goble line. It was pointed out that
there are many Gobles not now connected to any line who might be able to
establish their connection to the Thomas Goble line by the use of DNA. In order to do that there must be
participants in the project who have a proven connection to that line. Discussion ensued. One problem for some potential participants is the cost of the
tests.
- Motion: It
was moved, seconded and carried to establish the Goble Family DNA Project
Assistance Fund to help volunteers pay for the tests. Keith Goble donated the first $20 to
the fund.
Election of Officers: President Steen explained that she needed to step down
from the office of President/Treasurer.
She will continue to be the Association Webmaster and will be doing
Goble research and writing another book.
Barbara Goble Volker has volunteered to assume the position of
President/Treasurer. Sally Goble Meyer
has volunteered to be Newsletter Editor.
There were no volunteers for the office of Secretary.

Motion: It was moved, seconded and carried to elect Barbara
Goble Volker as President/Treasurer and Sally Goble Meyer as Newsletter Editor.
Adjournment: The group thanked Evelyn for all the hard work she has
done for the Association and the meeting was adjourned at 3:15 PM.
