The Goble Family Association holds a triannual Goble Reunion which gives Goble Family Association members the opportunity to meet and discuss the business of our Association.

The 2007 Goble Family reunion was a hugh success. Guidelines for membership were not changed. Election of new officers was held. Guidelines are:
• Maintain the annual Association dues/subscription rate at $10.00 to cover a 12 months period (July to July).
• Require paid Association dues/subscription to access the on-line newsletters.
• Increase our membership by word of mouth. Invite your brothers, sisters and cousins to join!
• Hold the next Goble Genealogy Family Union in year 2010 in the Western region of the United States.
• Election of new Executive Board members for 3 year terms.

Motions were made and votes were taken. The result of our 2007 Reunion and Goble Family Association meeting are:

• BUDGET The financial report was accepted leaving a balance of about $407.09 to carry forward after the July newsletter is mailed.
• NEWSLETTER Evelyn Steen will complete and mail the July newsletter, which is the membership drive. This newsletter will be Evelyn's last one as newsletter editor. Sally Goble Meyers has generously offered to be the new newsletter editor for the 3-year term (and I’m sure she’ll be terrific!)
• NEXT REUNION Barbara Volker has agreed to be the chairperson for the 2010 reunion, which is to be held in the Western part of the country. Anyone wanting to assist please contact Barbara at: blgvolker@comcast.net.
• NEW BUSINESS Discussion took place on the Goble Family Tree DNA Project. We need for a proven Thomas Goble descendant to have the testing done to establish the DNA markers for others to match. A motion was made to begin a DNA fund for the project and 5 Goble descendants of Thomas volunteered to take the test. A total of $140 was contributed to the cause.
• FUTURE OF OUR ASSOCIATION After 14 years I am retiring as the president/treasurer and newsletter editor of our association. I have absolutely enjoyed every reunion and meeting so many new cousins from all around the country. Barbara Volker has volunteered to accept the position and will assume the responsibility of President/Treasurer and newsletter distributor. I am confident that Barbara will do a great job as your leader and I think our future as a family association is bright. Sally Goble Meyers has accepted the newsletter editor position and although I've enjoyed the job it's time for new ideas. I'm sure she'll do a great job. I will continue to maintain and develop our website and now I will have more time to do the research I love as your historian/genealogist.
