Benjamin Hamrick, born Feb. 10, 1782, Faquier, son of Benjamin and Nancy McMillian hamrick was eleven when the family fled to Fort Donnally. He married April 19, 1811, Kanawha to Nancy Agnes Gregory born 1792 Bath of Pioneer Isaac and Sarah Given Gregory. Brother William was best man. They located 5 miles above Salt Sulphur Springs on land given by Isaac. Their first home was a log cabin, later Benjamin built a large two story home with stone chimney's at both ends and a porch. During the War of 1812, Benjamin served with Captain Wamsley's company, discharged January 27, 1815, at Ft. Nelson in Norfolk. The first Methodist Church services were held in the Hamrick Barn in 1833. In 1845, the brothers and neighbors built a log church on the side of the mountain above William's home called Pleasant Grove Church which is still active. In 1851, with William and a brother-in-law, James Dodrill, built the first schoolhouse, located in the vicinity of Wolf Penn Run. Benjamin signed the Webster petitions. He died June 12, 1863. Nancy died in 1873.

Bernard was called "Burn". He was an accomplished fiddle player.

lived on south side of Elk River, six miles above Webster Springs.

Isaac Given Hamrick died 1858 at age 46 of pneumonia while working on the Braxton Co. Jail, he was a stone mason and married to Nancy Dobbins. She remarried John Hammons. They lived on Elk River.

Julia remained single and lived with her sister Helena Hamrick Dodrill.
