Joss Koger was called "Cooper" which meant wine cask maker and he married Maria Catharina Gebhard, daughter of the Pastor of Feldburg on Feb. 22, 1701. After having 4 children, Maria died and Joss married Anna Lowenburger on April 23, 1709. Five sons and one daughter of Joss Koger came to America to found the Koger, Coger, Cogar, Cowger clans. Barbara, wife of Adam Miller, came first and settled in the Valley of VA. Hans Jacob and younger brother Michael came on the ship "MOrton House", sailed from Deal England on June 15, 1728. Landed at the Fort of Philadelphia on Aug. 24, 1728. Two months, 9 days. Nicholaus landed at Philadelphia on Aug. 17, 1732. Joss, Jr. landed at Charleston, SC in 1734.
Joss Koger died at Auggen, Germany, Aug. 23, 1733 at age 59. he was the lst German branch of this ancestry.
