| Obituary from unknown source, transcribed by Laura Nelle Pland Mallett: "Meyersdale Medical Center dietary manager Irma Kerr Strope, 75,of Meyersdale, died Friday, July 28, 2006, in Somerset. She was born August 19, 1930, in Delphene, a daughter of Rex and Brooksie Moniger Kerr. For many years, Mrs. Strope was a dietary manager for Meyersdale Medical Center, where she had baked thousands of cookies for the hospital's many functions. She was the devoted wife of John H. Strope, who died April 25, 2006. She was the beloved mother of seven children, Kenneth "Gale," Marilyn "William," Lisa and Gary, all of Meyersdale, Susan Pettit "Monty Pettit" of Washington, Terry "Emma Melillo" of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Cynthia "Michael Lowery" of Marianna; grandmother of 13; and a great-grandmother of 14. Also surviving are a brother, George Edison Kerr of Washington; a sister, Mary Joe Kerr of Brave; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are 10 brothers and sisters. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday in M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be held at 3 pm Monday, July 31, with Pastor Randy Haulk officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Meyersdale." | ||||||||||||
