Charles Otto Swanson (1869-1961) emigrated in 1886 from Misterhult.
His cousin, Edwin Olson, was born on the Nils Olson farm in the
southwest quarter of Otter Creek section 12 (later known as the
Youngberg place). Shortly after 1900, these families began moving
to Union County, South Dakota in the Big Springs and Alcester
areas. Family legend tells of Charles riding this bicycle all
the way from Kiron to South Dakota. |
