| Charles Otto Swanson (1869-1961) emigrated in 1886 from Misterhult. His wife, Mary McElhinney (1879-1974) was born in Donegal, Ireland. She emigrated in 1899 and lived with her Hewitt cousins in Hayes Township. They were probably married shortly after 1900 in the Kiron area. The family moved to a farm in the Alcester area of Union County, South Dakota around 1918. |
